The Details
Me
I’m Heather, and I’m a southern-born realist raised by Yankees. I’m goal-oriented, product-oriented, and detail-oriented. I like working and having opportunities to contribute to something bigger. (Bonus points if it helps people who need it.) I love food, and taking walks with my beagle, and lazy Sunday mornings on the couch with pancakes and my husband.
The Guy
He’s not detail oriented. He’s blind when it comes to finding household items in a closet he’s standing in front of. He’s kind, and generous, and as calm and cool as they come. He makes me laugh. His job is tough, and demanding, and it takes a toll on both of us, but we do what we can to not let it define us.
The Dog
AKA “The Great Beagle”. Two Speeds: (1) Asleep burrowed under a fuzzy blanket, with some body part of his wrapped around, under, or on top some body part of yours. Generally twitching and whimpering as he chases his dream rabbits. (2) Moving, playing with a variety of toys because he has a serious toy A.D.D. problem, and usually winds up forgetting about the toy altogether to either wrestle with your ill-prepared arm or to overdrive into (2 turbo): AKA the “Zoomies”, running as fast as he possibly can, ears flapping in the self-created wind, and howling at various intervals in case his admirers forgot to ooh and aah at his greatness.
The Job
I’m a communicator who has occupied every facet of the industry imaginable: Photographer, Videographer, Editor, Marketing Director, Social Media Manager, Graphic Designer, Events Coordinator, Blogger, Website Manager. I’ve worked for a non-profit school, a giant multi-brand automotive superstore, a resort and spa, a law firm, and the Army. I’ve loved every job I’ve done, absorbed as much as possible from every company I’ve worked for, teaching myself what I didn’t know, and leaving every position better than I found it. It’s been a blast, and I’ve found I just can’t stop trying new things, so I created this blog to build on the skills I’ve already taught myself in web development, pushing buttons and typing code and blithering on about my life until things start to make sense.
This life is messy, but it’s real, and it’s mine.
